I just found out that Year at Danger will screen at the Flint Film Festival, October 18th at 6:45 pm. That’s all the info I have right now, but I’ll post more as I get it.
Mike Everleth at Bad Lit posted his very positive review of Year at Danger today. He says “This is an incredibly powerful, emotionally moving and deeply resonant documentary” and that it “…unfolds like a traditional action film, really.”
You can read the whole review at Bad Lit.
Year at Danger along with The War Tapes, and fellow GI Film Festival selections Brothers at War and This is War are featured in an article in the current issue of National Guard Magazine.
Check out the website for Steve’s forthcoming book, Three Wars Later. It covers Steve’s deployment to Iraq (as documented in Year at Danger), as well as his previous deployments to the Middle East (during the Gulf War) and Bosnia.
We are very pleased to announce that Year at Danger took home the Grand Jury Prize at the deadCENTER Film Festival.
It was an amazing festival and we’d like to thank Kim Haywood, Melissa Scaramucci, Cacky Poarch and everyone else at the deadCENTER Film Festival for a fantastic weekend. We also saw some great films including The Stanton Family Grave Robbery, Brick by Brick: A Civil Rights Story, Split: A Divided America, Night of the Hell-Hamsters, Drag King, and Unsolved. Thanks for everything!
